Hello, I'm Craig

Thank you for engaging with my site today. I have had the opportunity to work on amazing projects for global companies building platforms that get them to the next level. Powering mountain resorts like Vail and Whistler, architecting data dashboards for Humana, implementing security controls, and most recently leading Atkore through a 600,000+ product digital transformation journey and winning a global award. This has been fun because I generally don't get to try new front-end frameworks, well for fun.

So what is "Cosine's Tangent"? Well it is a name that my Father thought of many years ago and he mentioned it to me one day and thought it would make a good band name. I didn't think so. Seemed too nerdy. Fast forward to recent times trigonometry actually has lots of real-world usage, not just triangles on paper. Especially in Vector databases cosine and tangent are used in LLMs to find similarity among tokens. It is the underpinning of your chat GPT. I have been learning more and more about these to try and stay current in this ever changing landscape of technology. So when it was recommended that I start a blog, I immeadiatly know the name of the blog. Hence Cosine's Tangent was born. If you have any advice, I would love to hear it!
